I have always been a resource, a supporter, a mentor, and an encourager. Even prior to becoming a Career Ownership Coach, I have always enjoyed helping other achieve more. Encouraging people to achieve a better quality of life through seeking raises, or a promotion in a current job, or helping someone land an interview that leads them to getting that better job, or simply motivating them to just come up with new aspirations for continuous self-improvement.
I realized early on that we can achieve any life that we wanted to have, if we were willing to put in the effort. Staying disciplined and not letting fear hold us down is crucial to getting the life we want. I am happy to help others realize “the impossible”. I don’t believe that life is a competition, but that “there is room for us all to make it”.
Like many, I was only taught one way to support a family. “You graduate high school, go on to college and get that piece of paper that will get you the interview, but you still need to sell yourself to get the job, and then work really hard to climb that corporate ladder, learn to play the corporate politics along the way, and be sure to put money in a 401k, retire, and die”. I was sold on that “dream” for over 20 years…
After being repeatedly uninspired and battered by Corporate America, I began to realize that my goals were greater than anything that could be achieved in only having a JOB. And although, I was able to achieve one goal, a reliable income, I realized that I had been abandoning many other important things in my life… like my family.
I know the “golden handcuffs” that Corporate America puts on us, and that the pressures of providing for a family, can sometimes keep us feeling stuck. But what I learned is that if we want to experience something new, we need to be willing to walk a new path.
I look back and realize the irony of how hard I worked for my family, but how much I was missing out on enjoying life with them and being present for them.
My family is my reason “why”, I left Corporate America and ventured on a new independent path. I would like to introduce them to you. My oldest son Anthony is 29 and married to Jacqueline, my daughter-in-law. They have given me 2 wonderful grandsons, Antonio & Joey. Being that I am grandma, I do know how fast kids grow up and how fast time flies. But it’s not too late for me, because I still have 2 young kids at home, Analisa and Andres, who I get to raise with my wonderful husband, Juan.
This life is going to only happen once, so we need to live it to the fullest. We aren’t going to get a chance to do it again.
I am here to help you identify what is important to you and present some new possibilities to ALL that you are considering. It’s not about closing doors; it’s about realizing that there are more doors to consider.
This is your journey to Career Independence. I’ve already ventured through mine. I am here to support you, no matter what direction you choose to go in!
But there is NO BETTER BOSS than being your own!
